Sunset Lover

This outfit has been long anticipated, I had been planning to wear this for a while but thought Kefalonia would be the perfect place. This loose Zara top emitted definite greecian vibes with the blue and white stripe, which went perfectly with my adored Topshop gladiator sandals. How could I not pair a beautiful Lyla Loves necklace with it and my favourite denim shorts? A mash up of bohemian/greecian loveliness. These shots are some of my favourites as the light was playing beautiful games throughout the evening, watching the sunset so crisply over the beach is something special. I am definitely a sunset lover...

Dancing with the Greeks

OPA! I'm not too sure as to what that means but I was constantly shouting it out whilst attempting to do some Greek dancing so we shall roll with it...
Although I was majorly excited to visit the island as it is such a beautiful place, I was also ridiculously excited to finally be able to wear this amazing H&M two piece as it must be my favourite thing I've bought in a long time! Everything about this two piece is so pristinely done, the fine embroidery, the cut of the pieces and my favourite thing, the rich red colour which is timeless. I decided due to the amount of pattern on this two piece, accessories would be kept to a minimum with my H&M backpack, plaited bracelet and Topshop sandals. The finishing touch to this look was my new hand made ring which I purchased from a store called Veronicas in Skala, Kefalonia from the wonderful owners. They craft all the jewellery during the winter and sell it in the summer, the service was perfect and I wish you could all go and buy their jewellery as they were such lovely people! What would visiting Greece be without trying Greek dancing? I found it so much fun and seemed to be the only one able to keep up the pace when it quickened, I think I found a new talent of mine...

When in Greece eh...

I wondered if I would ever get the opportunity to wear these beautiful pants and finally I did! The humid nights in Kefalonia meant that loose clothes such as this Topshop top and TK Maxx slit trousers were perfect for keeping cool. Wandering around in the 30 degree heat was bearable with the breeze these pants provided, although the slit did make me feel like Angelina Jolie with my leg sticking out. I fail to see my version had the same effect on the world. I decided a fringe backpack from H&M was the perfect companion to this outfit along with my Primark gladiators, I don't think I could have been more hippie chic if I tried. The finishing touch to this outfit was my Lyla Loves body chain, I am obsessed! I do have gladiators on, so can I pretend I'm a warrior and class this chain as 'armoury'? When in Greece eh...

Exploring, smiling and sweating a lot...

My first full day in Kefalonia began at a fairly early time of 8 am with an eager Lucy wanting to make the most of the beautiful surroundings but also try and tan this pale body of mine as much as possible. A few of these shots were took early morning on our balcony at the San Giorgio hotel in Skala which had ridiculously pretty views, but some were taken at my favourite hidden cove. When in such hot climates, my bikini is my best friend and shorts and a top are only worn if necessary. My purple pineapple bikini is a bargain find from Matalan, it just screams summer. I must say I am not one of these girls who enjoy wearing 'sexy swimwear', my collection ranges from patterns with flowers, pineapples and watermelons, I swear I am mature. I paired my H&M crochet top with my Topshop shorts to simply cover up and threw on my H&M Birkenstock style sandals because they're the comfiest thing I own. One thing that bothers me about warm countries is what to do with my fringe, it will probably come as a surprise to you in this post to see me without a fringe and I do feel I look unlike me without it. This day consisted of exploring, smiling and sweating a lot...

Where did I go...

So if you aren't following my instagram, which you all should @lucysb_, you would  be completely unaware that this past week I have spent in the beautiful greek island that is Kefalonia! I jetted off last Tuesday and arrived back tonight, it is fair to say that the past week has been one of the best of my life. With temperatures roaring into high 30's, we made the most of spending days at the beach but also getting to see the island on various boat trips. All those posts are soon to come but I thought I'd ease into my experience in Kefalonia with my first outfit of the holiday. I was completely going for that grecian bohemian vibe with all my outfits so this lace Topsop dress & gladiator sandals fit the bill perfectly. I added my dainty Betsy Johnson glasses and a New Look bag and that was about it. There was something about walking the streets of Greece in gladiators that felt slightly empowering. As soon as I arrived into Kefalonia I felt right at home and fell in love, I hope that briefly answers 'Where did I go...'

Intricately Finished

I have come to the conclusion and that everyone and their mothers now owns this skirt, yet I still can't help but wear it constantly! With temperatures being rather impressive these past few days a simple summery outfit like this has been getting me through not over heating. I adore this H&M crochet top as I think the shape of it is so unique for a crocheted piece, paired with the ever so famous Topshop denim skirt I think it is the perfect combination of my style. I threw on my New Look sandals as what is a summer day without sandals? Not being a huge fan of sandals, I tend to struggle in summer finding ones I actually like, yet these help make this look intricately finished...

Summer darkness

As you can probably tell, I am grasping every opportunity I can to wear this leather waistcoat as I feel ten times more confident when I'm wearing it, theres just something about leather and a red lip that makes me feel powerful! Everything in this outfit is from H&M which doesn't come as a surprise as a vast proportion of my wardrobe is from there. They always seem to have the best simple pieces yet carry some of the most unique staple pieces. Even though the bright summer sun is shining down, I can still show the summer darkness...

I'm not american but I can try

Seen as though my trip to America is only four weeks away and today is 4th July also known as independence day, I decided an american inspired outfit would be pretty fitting to wear. I paired this striped Topshop crop with my Topshop white dungarees and classic black converse, pretty simple but I love it. With temperatures soaring in the UK this week I've automatically gone to wear shorts and a tee so I finally broke the mould with this outfit. I love having fun with classic american teenage trends, I'm not american but I can try...
